Habitat: small calcareous seepage fens "hanging" on slight, gradually-sloping terrace on mid-slope of fairly steep, 70 foot, south-facing slope. Growing around margins of several distinct fens. On closely-cropped humocks amidst overgrazed pasture. Deep saturated peat. Associats include Juncus alpinoarticulatus, Carex sterilis, C. granularis, C. tetanica, Scirpus pungens, Rhynchospora capillacea, Echinochloa crusgalli, Glyceria striata, Triglochin palustris, Parnassia glauca, Gentianopsis procera, Pedicularis lanceolata, Lobelia kalmii.
