Habitat: Moderately rugged forested moraine ... along all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trail (old logging road) on moderately steep east-facing slope. Partial shade along edge of the trail in an area of immature mesic hardwood forest dominated by Populus tremuloides and Quercus macrocarpa. Additional associates include Alnus incana, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Corylus cornuta, Carex pensylvanica, Pteridium aquilinum.
