Habitat: Growing in full sunlight in a northern alder swamp native plant community but with some shrub shore fen characteristics. Low gradient stream segment flows through community.
Associated Species: Alnus incana subsp. rugosa, Spiraea alba, Salix pyrifolia, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Carex canescens, and Calamagrostis canadensis.
Description: Flowering pistillate specimen. Cutting taken from a single clump approximately 90 cm tall and 100 cm in diameter.
