The management road is accessed from County road 23 and US-53 to the north and west, respectively. The Elbow river is 675 m to the southeast. Orr is the nearest town 9 km to the northwest. Habitat: Occurs on a crest top of a jack pine woodland native plant community. 70% shade from Pinus banksiana and midstory Quercus rubra. Thin soil over bedrock.
Associated Species: Quercus rubra, Salix humilis, Vaccinium angustifolium, Pteridium aquilinum, Eurybia macrophylla, Oryzopsis asperifolia, Danthonia spicata, and Dicranum spp.
Description: Solitary flowering specimen 75 cm tall.
