Habitat: Found in a disturbed and weedy northern very wet ash swamp native plant community. Canopy cover consists of Populus tremuloides and Fraxinus nigra. specimen immediately shaded by Fraxinus nigra.
Associated Species: Rhamnus alnifolia, Rubus idaeus var. strigosus, Ribes triste, Athyrium filix-femina, Matteuccia struthiopteris, Actaea rubra, Mentha arvensis, Prunella vulgaris, Caltha palustris, Symphyotrichum puniceum, Glyceria striata, and Carex intumescens.
Description: Flowering specimen 1.8 m tall.
