Habitat: Occurring in a low shrub bog native plant community. Surface water depth 10 cm and pH 4.1 in patchy pools. Stunted trees forming 5% canopy cover.
Associated Species: Chamaedaphne calyculata, Rhododendron groenlandicum, Kalmia polifolia, Andromeda polifolia var. latifolia, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Scheuchzeria palustris, Maianthemum trifolium, Sarracenia purpurea, Drosera rotundifolia, Carex chrodorrhiza, C. pauciflora, Eriophorum vaginatum, E. virginicum, Sphagnum fuscum, and S. magellanicum.
Description: Fruiting specimen 120 cm tall with a blue-green cast.
