Habitat: Specimen found at the edge of a northern very wet ash swamp native plant community. Canopy casts deep shade consisting of Thuja occidentalis and Fraxinus nigra. Hummock and hollow topography common with pools abundant. An alder swamp occurs adjacent to the east.
Associated Species: Scutellaria lateriflora, Lycopus uniflorus, Impatiens capensis, Carex tuckermanii, and Calamagrostis canadensis.
