Locality: United States, Minnesota, Saint Louis, Accessed via the Arrowhead State Trail running north from County Road 180, east of US-53. Logging trails allow ATV access to within 350m southwest of the collected specimen. South Bog Lake is 1km to the east-southeast. Cusson is the nearest town 7.3km to the southwest. T66N R19W SESE Sec. 33.

Habitat: Found in a northern rich tamarack swamp native plant community. Very poorly drained peat and mucky peat substrate with surface water pH 5.9. Standing water 5cm. Very open canopy (5-25%). Collected specimen growing in partial shade of Larix laricina.
Associated Species: Thuja occidentalis, Rhododendron groenlandicum, Rhamnus alnifolia, Gaultheria hispidula, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Cornus canadensis, Trientalis borealis
Description: Cutting taken from a 70cm individual.
