Habitat: The area is southern dry prairie mostly covered in grasses. It has open rolling hills with lots of sun.
Description: White heath aster is a hardy perennial with an extensive root system of rhizomes and stolons. Leaves are narrow and linear. Ray flowers are white to pink and the center disc flowers are yellowish-to-purple. A key characteristic is the blunt point of the brackets beneath the flower head.
