United States, Minnesota, Saint Louis, Accessed via the Arrowhead State Trail on ATV west from Forest Road 203 and east from County Road 180 and US-53. Forest Road 203 is 2.3km to the east. Silver Lake is 800m to the south-southwest and Bug Lake is 600m to the north. Cusson is the nearest town 16km to the southwest. T66N R19W NWNW Sec. 12

Habitat:
Occurring in a localized northern dry-mesic mixed woodland native plant community. Northwest aspect with 5-6% slope on thin (3cm) organic matter over bedrock. Specimen strongly rooted in organic matter matrix formed from Pleurozium schreberi moss and gravel substrate.

Vaccinium myrtilloides, Viola spp, Corydalis sempervirens, Melampyrum lineare, Trientalis borealis, Poa spp, Oryzopsis asperifolia, Schizachne purpurascens
Description:
80cm tall fruiting individual growing immediately under a 40% canopy cover of Populus tremuloides.
