Dry prairie on west facing slope overlooking the Chippewa River (west branch). Growing with Stipa spartea, Schizachryium scoparia, Aster ericoides, Echinacea angustifolia, Liatris punctata, Pulsatilla nuttalliana, Solidago nemoralis, Ulmus sibirica.
