Habitat: In abandoned area on south side of large gravel pit...moist, gravelly soil in level area approximately one foot above the level of adjacent small, excavated (cattail) wetland. In area of low-statured vegetation which forms a dense sod. Full sun. Associated species include Danthonia spicata, Carex scoparia, Habenaria clavellata, Prunella vulgaris, Achillea millefolium, Chrysanthemum leucanthemum, Anaphalis margaritacea, Trifolium pratense, Antennaria neglecta, Hieracium sp.
