Locality: United States, Iowa, Bremer, T91N R11W Section 9 NW4 SW4 SW4 SW4, UTM(NAD83, 15T) 568811 Easting, 4728042 Northing. The Aldo Leopold Wildlife Management Area is owned by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. It is approximately 3.3 miles east/southeast of the intersection of State Highway 3 and County Road V49 north of Readlyn. The Aldo Leopold Wildlife Management Area is on the Iowan Surface.

Habitat: disturbed wet-mesic tallgrass prairie
Substrate: The collection site is north of 240th Street. The soil at the collection site is mapped in the county soil survey as Sattre loam, moderately deep, 0 to 2 percent slopes (SdA), a Mollic Hapludalf.
Associated Species: Anemone canadensis, Equisetum arvense, Galium obtusum, Gentiana andrewsii, Onoclea sensibilis, Phalaris arundinacea, Spiraea alba
Description: Some of the fertile ramets are releasing yellow spores.
Notes: 50+ ramets of fertile and sterile Ophioglossum pusillum
