Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Poa compressa, P. pratensis, Sporobolus heterolepis Stipa spartea, Solidago speciaosa, Penstemon gracilis, Liatris punctata, L. aspera, Cirsium hilii, Artemisia ludoviciana, A. campestris, Aster ericoides, Petalostemum candidum, Calylophus serrulata, Heuchera richardsonii, Toxicodendron rydbergii.
