Habitat: An opening in a bur oak woodland.
Associated Species: Zanthoxylum americanum, Parthenocissus inserta, Rubus occidentalis, Ribes americanum. Collected from same stem as WRS26869 (fruiting specimen).
Description: Flowers just beginning to 9open (spring 2-4 days late). A single-stemmed, open-grown specimen 6 m tall, 19 cm dbh, 6.5 m crown spread. Stamens ca 20, anthers pink. Both compound thons and simple thorns abundant.
