Habitat: In dry sandy soil, and partial shade.
Associated Species: dominated by Quercus ellipsoidalis. associated with Corylus americana, Salix humilis, Amelanchier laevis, A. arborea.
Description: Large shrub/small tree with 3 stems, the largest 5.5 m tall, 5 cm dbh. Bark gray, smooth. Ovaries moderately hairy. Non-clonal.
