Associated Species: dominated by Quercus rubra and Tilia americana. associated with Ostrya virginiana, Betula papyrifera, Acer saccharum, Amelanchier arborea.
Description: A slender upright shrub with a single stem 2 m tall, and 2 cm basal dia. Bark brown-gray, smooth; leaves slightly bronze-tinged; ovaries moderately pubescent.
