Habitat: In a grassy/brushy habitat at the edge of an oak woodland.
Associated Species: associated with Zanthoxylum americanum, Viburnum lentago, Prunus americana, Crataegus chrysocarpa.
Description: Est 2-4 days before peak of anthesis (spring 2 weeks early this year). Collected from the same stem as WRS27564 (fruiting specimen). Stamens ca 10, anthers white. No compound thorns, simple thorns to 7 cm long. A large single-stemmed shrub 3.7 m tall, 5 cm dbh. Branches divergent.
