Habitat: Growing from moss-covered cracks just above water line at base of 30 m, open, northwest-facing, sparsely vegetated, Duluth Complex cliff ... Mostly overhung by projecting block above. Associates include: Dryopteris fragrans, Poa pratense nearby and nearly coninuous cover of lichens.
