Habitat:
on 50-foot, north-facing, basalt cliffs below lower-most waterfall on river. Forming sparse clumps on mossy ledges of the mid portion of the cliff. Plants shaded by aspect of cliff as well as Thuja occidentalis, Alnus viridis ssp. crispa, Sorbus decora, Acer spicatum, and Betula papyrifera on upper part of cliff. Cliff face gets much use by recreational climbers and other adventure seekers.
