Infrequent on 15- to 30-foot, north-facing, mesic basalt cliff along the lower reaches of Nelson's Creek 2 1/2 miles northeast of Castle Danger. Cliff forms upper half of 60-foot deep gorge between Hwy 61 and the Lake Superior shore.; T054N R09W sec22

Habitat: In crevices, ledges, and clumps of moss on lower portion of sparsely-vegetated, moderately-fractured cliff faces. Shaded by aspect and small trees and shrubs on the cliff face including Betula papyrifera, Thuja occidentalis, Abies balsamea, Alnus viridis, and Acer spicatum. Forms sparse clumps.
