Habitat: Locally frequent in dry crevices of much-fractured basalt atop small bedrock island. Full sun in settings 25 feet above the lake, island separated from mainland by 25 feet of water. Forming clumps. Also in dry crevices atop cliffs on narrow bedrock fingers extending into the lake just to the south.
Associated Species: Associated species include Trisetum spicatum, Achillea millefolium, Potentilla tridentata, Solidago hispida.
