Habitat: Occasional in crevices of basalt along 1/4 mile of shoreline on (primarily) north-facing, 25- to 60-foot, basalt cliffs on a series of bedrock fingers extending into lake and on side of 25-foot tall bedrock island. Moist to dry, shaded to sunny settings 10-50 feet above lake, protected from most waves/ice.
Associated Species: Associates include Trisetum spicatum, Saxifraga aizoon, Campanula rotundifolia, Trisetum spicatum, Solidago hispida, Polypodium virginianum, Euphrasia hudsoniana, Woodsia ilvensis, Dryopteris fragrans.
