Habitat: East end of large, open meadow, many parts of which are covered with shallow open water. Open areas dominated by Carex spp. Marginal raised hummocks between open Carex fen w/ Sphagnum-covered substrate and the upland forest (which is dominated by Picea engelmanii and Pinus contorta) is characterized by the presence of large (ca. 4 sq. meter) clumps of Salix spp. gorwing on a moist, moss-covered substrate.
