Habitat: Rolling (locally quite rugged) forested terrain ... in low shrub poor fen in ~8-acre depression adjacent to a 30-foot high esker. Moderately quaky, deep, saturated peat. continuous Sphagnum spp. moss carpet. Full sun. Associated species include Eriophorum vaginatum var. spissum, Carex limosa, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Kalmia polifolia, Scheuchzeria palustris, Sarracenia purpurea, Drosera rotundifolia, and stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana.
